Webinar: How Much is Enough in Washington State?

Since 2001, the Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County has partnered with the University of Washington’s Center for Women’s Welfare to publish the report, which is used to evaluate policy, target job training resources, counsel and evaluate outcomes for clients in work training programs, and assist grant-makers with needs analyses and impact assessment.

This video includes:

  • Lisa Manzer & Annie Kucklick from University of Washington’s CFWW share an overview of the self-sufficiency standard and findings from the newly released 2020 report, which details cost of living increases and impacts across the state of Washington.

  • Insights into how poverty is measured nationwide, and what self-sufficiency wages look like for families locally.

  • Information on existing tools, such as the self-sufficiency calculator, and how they can be used to plan and measure long-term progress for employment & training programs.

  • Examples from other states, and how they have used this data to address workforce development.
